This scholarship was established in memory of Greg Jorns. This scholarship is for graduating seniors or graduates of Sevastopol school. Greg was a graduate of Sevastopol school, and was known to be the "jack of all trades". This is in honor of Greg's memory in the Sevastopol community.
* Loretta Wells Nursing Scholarship
Mrs. Loretta A. Wells established a charitable trust through her estate to provide scholarships for nursing students. Mrs. Wells was born in Ashwaubenon in 1893 and passed away there in 1981. She received her education from St. Mary's Hospital in Green Bay and practiced nursing there for several years. NWTC students must be entering their second year of the nursing program and attending full-time. Awarding is based on academic performance, recommendations, and financial need.

This scholarship was established to support full-time students in the civil engineering technology program at NWTC. Students must demonstrate financial need.
A New Beginning: Anthony D. Rivers Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is in honor of Anthony D. Rivers. This scholarship will be awarded to full-time students who have been incarcerated looking to continue their education. Qualified students will have completed one year of their program and have a minimum GPA of 2.5
A Ray of Help Scholarship
As a college student, I received a scholarship in memory of an individual in my community. I was very appreciative of the funds I received towards my education. As an instructor at NWTC, I know the needs of our students are great. I want to help our students as I was once helped. Additionally, my husband and I are doing this in memory of our fathers, both of whom were named Raymond.
AAUW Green Bay Branch Scholarship
One of the missions of AAUW is to advance equity for women and girls through education. So strongly did our branch founders believe in post-high school education that at the second branch meeting in 1937, the first $50 scholarship was awarded to a Green Bay West High School graduate. For over 90 years AAUW Green Bay (WI) Branch has awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships. AAUW Green Bay Branch continues to fulfill the AAUW Mission as well as our branch mission: to create a diverse group of educated persons making a positive impact on the community and on individual members.
Allen F. Ellingson Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Mr. Ellingson’s daughter, Patti Tuyls, established this scholarship in memory of her father who served Northeast Wisconsin Technical College for 40 years. Education was his passion and he spent the greater part of his life promoting technical education throughout the state of Wisconsin.

Amy Bigari is a 1996 graduate of NWTC in the Administrative Assistant-Secretarial program. Ashley was a bright, intelligent young woman who began classes at NWTC toward her nursing career when she was still a senior at Fox Valley Lutheran high school. Ashley's smile and personality were contagious and she is greatly missed. The scholarship is available to students in the associate degree nursing program who are 25 years old or younger. Brenna Pierson Tucker Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship has been established to honor the memory of my beautiful, talented, and compassionate niece, Brenna Pierson Tucker. In her 37 years, she danced, laughed, and loved her way through life. She and her husband, Christopher Tucker, established the Esoteric Dance Project in Chicago, IL so they could nurture young dancers through their choreography and direction. Brenna believed in the power of possibility and in working hard to make your dreams come true. This scholarship is established in her name to carry on her legacy by helping dreams come true. This scholarship will be awarded to students who are part of the LGBTQ+ community or allies of the community.

Clement P. Drella Endowed Scholarship
Clement P. Drella (1932-2014) was employed as a truck driver for thirty-eight years. In his free time he enjoyed attending classic and antique car shows and visiting car museums. One of his friends at the local car shows nicknamed him "The Judge" because of his scrutiny and thorough knowledge of classic and antique automobiles. He would be pleased to support students at NWTC who share his love of all types of vehicles. Therefore, this scholarship is established in his memory.

James and Jodi Julius established this scholarship in honor of their son Devin James Julius. Devin was a graduate of the 2014 Gas Utility Construction and Service Program. Devin accepted a position at Alliant Energy two weeks after graduating. Devin passed away two weeks after starting at Alliant from a motorcycle accident. This program made such a difference in Devins life that James and Jodi would like to honor Devin by helping to make a difference in another students life.
Diane L. Hamil Memorial Scholarship
Diane L. Hamil was a successful artist and teacher from Green Bay, Wisconsin. Diane attended Rockford College in Rockford, Illinois graduating cum laude in 1983 with a degree in Fine Arts. Following graduation, she worked for TSR, Inc. as a commercial artist creating hundreds of illustrations and graphics for well-known books & magazines such as Dungeons & Dragons. Diane also had a love for training horses, competing in equestrian style events with her horse Fanny. Diane returned to Green Bay, WI, in 1988 where she continued her career teaching Art at several area grade schools and high schools, until she retired in 2012. Diane lost her battle with cancer in 2019. In memory of “Auntie” Diane, this scholarship encourages “creative and adventurous” students pursuing technology careers in Graphic Arts and Education.

The estate of Dorothy Krohn makes this scholarship available to all students who demonstrate financial need. Ms. Krohn was a special education teacher in the Marinette public school system until 1978. Until her passing in 2004, her annual contributions to the NWTC Educational Foundation assisted students with extreme financial need.
Dr. Arthur Duperrault Family Memorial Scholarship
Dr. Arthur Duperrault was a prominent optometrist from Green Bay, Wisconsin in mid-1900's. "Doc" Duperrault, as he became known, was as innovative and adventurous in his practice as in his life. He became a respected leader among his peers, largely through his early embrace of contact lenses, decades before they became popular in use. In memory of Dr. Duperrault and his family, this scholarship encourages "innovative and adventurous" students pursuing technolgy careers.

Gerald C. Hock Endowment Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Gerald Hock upon his retirement from the Green Bay Packaging management team. Prior to his retirement Mr. Hock also served on the NWTC Educational Foundation Board of Directors. This scholarship is available to students enrolled in a business related program. Academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, community involvement and financial need are reviewed.

This scholarship was established in memory of Gerald (Gerry) Vander Putten. Gerry was a former Green Bay resident with a cum laude degree in Communications from UW Green Bay and a degree in Broadcasting from the Brown Institute in Minneapolis. His long career in radio broadcasting included initiating the farm program at WMAM in Marinette, Wisconsin, where he was the agricultural reporter for many years. Gerry also worked in hospitality supervision at the Landmark Resort in Egg Harbor, Wisconsin.

Green Bay-De Pere Business & Professional Women Scholarship
The Green Bay De Pere Business & Professional Women's Club received its national charter in 1925 and continued until May of 2010. The Club's fund balance was used to establish an endowment to provide financial assistance to women who may be taking first steps to improve their lives through education. These scholarships are open to full-time students over the age of 25 who have demonstrated academic success and financial need.

Harriett Haines received her associate degree from Presentation School of Nursing in Aberdeen, SD. She enjoyed a long nursing career. She retired from St. Vincent's Hospital where she worked in the Emergency Room. Harriett looked at nursing more as her calling, not just a job. She was proud to be a registered nurse.

Heather Cox, of the NWTC faculty, gives this scholarship in memory of her grandparents. The scholarship is open to diesel equipment program students in honor of her grandfather, or culinary and hospitality students in honor of her grandmother. To honor their longtime residency on Washington Island, the scholarship is also open to graduates of Washington Island High School.

This scholarship was established to commemorate the Herrild Construction Company (established in Menominee, MI). This family owned company was deeply rooted in civil engineering and surveying industry for many years. It was built on the foundation of hard work ethic and employees who had pride in their work.

This scholarship is a collaborative effort of the three hospitality programs; Hospitality Management, Culinary Specialist, and Event Management. The funds ae raised when hospitality students plan, run and evaluate an annual fundraiser event called TASTE.

Irene M. Cichon Memorial Scholarship
The children of John and Irene M. Cichon from Crivitz support an annual scholarship in the memory of their parents who encouraged post-secondary education as a pathway to achieving a fulfilling career. Irene M. Cichon was a homemaker with eight children and worked as a teacher's assistant for pre-school and elementary children at Crivitz schools in the 1960's. On evenings and weekends, she would car pool with others and travel as far as 100 miles from home to different universities to take classes and tests to attain certifications in pre-school and elementary education.

The Jacksonport Women’s Club (JWC) established this scholarship in keeping with its mission in support of women to fulfill their educational goals that can lead to a better Jacksonport area community. Preference to female students who are pursuing a technical diploma or associate degree program at any of the NWTC campuses with at least one scholarship reserved for a student attending the Sturgeon Bay Campus. Preference is given first to female students who are graduating from or are graduates of Sevastopol High School and if none, then to female students graduating from or who are graduates of any of the high schools located in Door County.

James J. Macco Memorial Scholarship Fund for the Trades
Dad always appreciated and expected hard work from his kids and employees alike. He also was a generous man who understood that at times, people might need a little help. It was common for him to help an employee financially who might be going through a rough spot. Or he'd learn about a family who lost everything in a fire or some other hardship and send them money to help ease their burden. This scholarship shall exist with that spirit in mind. The spirit of giving. the spirit of rewarding hard work with a little assistance so as to help ease the burden of debt so students can concentrate on their studies with the goal being to achieve a degree in the construction trades.
James L. Pickering Memorial Scholarship
James L. Pickering (1947-2012) was the first in his family to attend college. Long after graduation and earning success as a master certified network engineer, Jim held strong to the belief that continuing education was the key to success in any occupation. This scholarship was established to honor Jim's respect for the individuals who acknowledge that their futures depend upon a good education and the commitment to the challenges associated with improving themselves.

Paper Converting Machine Company along with its employees established this scholarship in memory of Jim and Laura Tyndall who were tragically lost when their vehicle was struck by a drunk driver. Both Jim and Laura were NWTC alumni. Jim was a graduate of the Automotive Technician program and Laura graduated from the Certified Nursing Assistant program. Awarding will be based on financial need and drive and ambition as evidenced in the personal statement essay. This scholarship continues to grow from the financial support of their family.

Jim Truttmann "Extra Mile/Don't Panic" Memorial Scholarship
Family and friends of Jim established this scholarship in his memory for a student in a program that includes computer training as its main emphasis. Jim served the NWTC programmer/analyst program as a lab aide, tutor, computer operator, technician and friend. He rode his bicycle over ten miles to and from college symbolizing his wilingness to go the "Extra Mile". His trademark statement was "Don't Panic". Awarding will be based on how well the student demonstrates in their application the desire and capacity to help others.

That it takes education, knowledge and experience to successfully nurture children’s development.

The children of John and Irene M. Cichon from Crivitz support an annual scholarship in in the memory of their parents who encouraged post-secondary education as a pathway to achieving a fulfilling career. John Cichon was a World War II veteran who afterwards enrolled in a technical school for TV repair and electronics. He started his own TV repair business, which supported a large family with eight children.

The Larry Dean Chaplin Scholarship was established in his honor by devoted family and friends of Larry. He opened himself to others and was always there for someone in need. He was a library of knowledge combined with a witty sense of humor and an uncanny ability to tell stories. As an accomplished profession in the Transportation Industry, his unassuming personality, determined and driven work ethic and exemplary leadership skills resulted in a strong following and success in the business world. Despite his above average level of intelligence, Larry credited much of his success to surrounding himself with others who he believed in and trusted. These relationships he treasured and held very close.
He was a visionary, always in search of new opportunities and areas for improvement. As a lifelong learner and mentor to many, he lived by the creed that with hard work and passion you can accomplish anything. Mrs. Loretta A. Wells established a charitable trust through her estate to provide scholarships for nursing students. Mrs. Wells was born in Ashwaubenon in 1893 and passed away there in 1981. She received her education from St. Mary's Hospital in Green Bay and practiced nursing there for several years. NWTC students must be entering their second year of the nursing program and attending full-time. Awarding is based on academic performance, recommendations, and financial need.

Diane Gulbrand, former NWTC Nursing faculty, established this scholarship in memory of her parents, who utilized nursing services toward the end of their lives and were very appreciative. Michael "Sparky" LaHaie Welding Scholarship
Mike was an incredibly talented master welder, who mentored many young welders over his years in the field and was also one of the few who could weld with a mirror. He moved to Sturgeon Bay, WI in the late 1970's where he first worked for Bay Shipbuilding Corp and then went on to work at various welding shops including Peterson Builders, Palmer Johnson, and ExacTech over his 30+ year career. He took classes for blueprint reading at the Sturgeon Bay campus of NWTC and then taught welding classes for over a year at the same location. This scholarship is established in his honor at the school that he attended as well as taught at to enable his legacy in the field of welding to carry on.

This scolarship is in honor of Michael J. Waeghe. The scholarship will be awarded based on financial need and is open to students living in Brown County, enrolled in the early childhood program, and have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
Michael R. Lemke Memorial Scholarship
Family and friends established this scholarship in memory of Mike who was a former NWTC student and the son of Rolland Lemke, long time counselor at NWTC. Mike was a take charge person with more than 10 years of experience in the fuels transportation business after being certified by the U.S. Air Force as a fuels accountant. This scholarship promotes technical college excellence by providing assistance to students in the NWTC supply chain management program who may be future leaders in the inventory and transportation industries.
Michael Reinke Digital Arts Scholarship
Michael Reinke's philosophy: "If you can see beyond what others see - it opens the door to unlimited possibilities." Michael would like someone who can bring the delights of nature to all who can't see, and someone who can see the beauty of life in everything, buildings & architecture, and someone who can immerse themselves into all aspects of imagery.
He was a very good employee, friend, mentor, and very gifted artist and will always be remembered as that.
Mike Albertson Scholarship
Students and staff established this scholarship in honor of Mike Albertson's retirement after 24 years of service. Eligible students will have a minimum 2.5 GPA, enrolled in corrections/law enforcement, and have one semester completed.

Mishler Business Student Scholarship (Fall)
Lon and Carol Mishler established an endowment to fund business student scholarships every year. Lon was a NWTC Business Division instructor for 23 years working primarily with students in the credit management program. Lon helped many students develop their skills, he wrote a textbook, and he provided training to many local financial institutions. He started a part-time investment advisory business that became full-time after his retirement. Lon believes NWTC provided the foundation and encouragement to develop his career and now wants to improve opportunities for students and staff at the College. This award is made to a full-time student who demonstrates eagerness to learn and makes valuable contributions to our community. Preference will be given to those with an interest in financial planning, credit counseling or investments; although all business division students will be considered. Academic merit and financial need are also considerations.

This scholarship was established by MLT faculty to help students achieve their dream of higher education in the medical field. Eligible students will be enrolled in the Medical Laboratory Technician program, have a 3.0 GPA, and entering their final semester, with preference given to students showing high financial need.

Nathan Krepline Memorial Scholarship Endowment
Nathan was hired to start the Diesel program at the Green Bay campus. Nathan was determined to create a program that would allow students to build their skills and then progress to more advanced diagnostics. The new building was a highlight in his life and he worked tirelessly to ensure that the layout, equipment, and trucks would provide the best learning opportunities for students. Nathan unexpectedly passed away before the building was finalized, but his legacy will continue here at NWTC.

This scholarship was established to honor the memory of Brandon Groh, son of Ed and Cathy Groh. Brandon passed away from Myocarditis at the age of 20. He was a 2020 graduate of the welding program. Brandon found great joys in the trades as well as in his personal life displaying strong work ethics, loyalty to family and friends and numerous acts of kindness to others. This scholarship will continue Brandon's legacy by making a positive difference in someone's life.

Romaine Schanock was a mechanic and service station attendant after graduation from high school. His first car was a 1924 Model T 2-door, bought in 1937 for $7, the year of his graduation. Although he moved on from that job to selling Cadillacs and eventually owning the local McDonald's franchise, his first love was fixing cars. His family is providing these scholarship funds to honor their father and encourage a local student.

Sparkly Wand Scholarship
The Sparkly Wand Scholarship is given in memory of Sharon S. Ball. Sharon began her career as a librarian in her mid-thirties. Despite her career being cut short by cancer, Sharon’s' impact on her profession was so great that she received the Davis cup from the Illinois Library Association’s Youth Services Forum and the Polestar Award from the Illinois School Library Media Association in 2008; she was recognized by her peers as an "Illinois Library Luminary" - an honor given to those who have made a significant contribution to Illinois libraries; and has a pedestrian bridge named after her in Wheeling, Illinois. Sharon also had a devious sense of humor and requested that "sparkly wands" be distributed at her funeral, a symbol of her whimsical nature. Because of her deep love for the people and places of Door County, Wisconsin, the Sparkly Wand Scholarship honors her memory and passes the "wand" to someone just beginning her journey towards her own career.
Stephen and Mary Van Domelen Metal Trades Scholarships
This scholarship is awarded annually to a motivated and deserving student enrolled at the Marinette Campus of NWTC in a trades program. The scholarship was established by two NWTC Marinette Alumni. Both graduated with honors in 1978--Steve Van Domelen with a diploma in welding/Metallurgy, and Mary Bretl with an Accounting Diploma. They later married, and moved to Portland, Oregon. Today Steve and Mary own and operate a ship repair and metal fabrication company, Vanport Marine, Inc. They credit NWTC for providing them with the skills and knowledge needed to launch their careers. They want this scholarship to help others in the Menominee/Marinette area interested in gaining the skill and knowledge necessary to launch their own successful career.

For nearly 30 years Steve Duginski shared his love of learning as an instructor at NWTC. Before he died he created a named scholarship fund to benefit Electrical Engineering Technology program students. His wife, Elizabeth, along with family and friends fulfilled his wishes to create an endowed legacy with memorial gifts to his scholarship fund. Qualified students will be entering their second year of the program and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Steven and Maureen Lapacz Endowed Scholarship
Steven and Maureen Lapacz established this scholarship with a planned gift and an annual contribution. Steven began his career as a teacher and later moved into the IT field; Maureen is an artist and homemaker. They feel that they have been very fortunate and hope to make a difference in someone else's life. If that is their legacy, they couldn't be happier. In his retirement, Steven tutors students studying for the GED tests and is also a volunteer tax preparer. This renewable scholarship will benefit GED graduates.

These scholarships were made possible by the Talhia Heroux Memorial Fund, Inc. which was established in 2009 in memory of Talhia Heroux. Talhia was taken from us at the age of 18 by a drunk driver. These scholarships will help students accomplish some of their hopes and dreams as Talhia would have done given the opportunity.

Terri Spaanem Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in Terri's honor. She was a fabulous artist, photographer, stain glass artist, jeweler and creator of turning old unwanted materials into art! She was a person who would do anything for her friends and family. She freely gave her time to help and support various causes and animal rescue facilities.

Tony Druml Memorial Scholarship
Friends and family of Tony Druml established this scholarship in his memory to assist students entering their second year of the Respiratory Therapist program at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. Eligible students must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average, be recommended by the instructional staff, and have financial need. Professionalism and leadership attributes are also a consideration.
Triple H Adult Student Scholarship
Former NWTC Counselor and former NWTC Board Trustee, Phyllis Habeck, has established an endowment fund to assist NWTC students reach their educational goals. This scholarship is open to a Shawano County resident who is at least 25 years of age and is accepted in an associate degree or technical diploma program. Awards are based on the overall application.
Triple H Shawano Scholarship
Former NWTC Counselor and NWTC Board Trustee, Phyllis Habeck, established an endowment fund to assist NWTC students reach their educational goals. This scholarship is open to students taking program courses toward an associate degree or technical diploma program through the NWTC Shawano Regional Learning Center. Awards are based on the overall application.

WHA Foundation Inc. Scholarship (Spring)
The Wisconsin Hospital Association Foundation offers scholarships to two students enrolled in a two-year degree program leading to health care careers. Students must be enrolling in their final semester. Eligible students will have a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Please Note - The funds will cover final semester tuition, fees and books UP TO a maximum of $2,000. Your final award amount is based on spring tuition and books and may change from initial award amount noted.
William Bretl Memorial Scholarship
Steve Bretl, NWTC program instructor, established this scholarship in memory of his father, William Bretl, who was a graduate of the Diesel Mechanic program at Sturgeon Bay and subsequently became a Diesel Mechanic instructor. This scholarship is for a student who will be entering their second year of a diesel program at the Sturgeon Bay Campus.
William C. Fowles Memorial Scholarship
The William C. Fowles Scholarship was created in his memory by his family. The scholarship is being awarded in the Machine Tool Operation program. William was a talented machinist and co-owner of Machine Service Inc. in Green Bay. This scholarship is being awarded to a deserving high school graduates from the Green Bay and Ashwaubenon high schools who demonstrates a combination of academic achievement and financial need. William would be proud knowing a young person will be given the opportunity to pursue a career in the Machine Tool Operation program.
WPS Technical College Scholarship
This program provides graduating high school seniors with financial assistance to continue their education through enrollment in certain Wisconsin Technical Colleges. Recipients must plan to enroll as a full-time student in certain one-year technical diploma or two-year associate degree programs.
